The following are notable commentaries about the exhibition:

President of the University, Dr. Lorna Marsden:

“We are proud to have such a gifted artist and generous student as part of the York community. I applaud Amir for his artistry and his altruism.”

The Acting Master of the College, Peter Paolucci:

“I think that the name of your show (“Students Helping Other Students at York University”) was a very appropriate, and the 40% generated from the sales of your pictures was a generous donation on your part, and an excellent contribution to the worthy cause of a Stong Scholarship. In a time when so many students are complaining about the rising cost of tuition, it is refreshing to see a young man with such a positive and proactive vision… Complaining is easy; doing is hard, and you have achieved much by these efforts. Your event was also a stellar accomplishment because of the fabulous turnout; it was extremely well attended by students and dignitaries alike… It was an honour for Stong College to be associated with you.”

The Deputy Mayor of Toronto, Case Ootes:

“Your donation of proceeds from the sale of your artworks to an annual student scholarship fund at York University is an admirable deed, and one that should be applauded by all those who benefit from your generosity.” Mr. Ootes went on to say, “obviously from what I’ve seen, he’s got a promising future.”
